The Australian Communications and Media Authority has launched an apparatus licence fee calculator to make the process of applying for a licence to operate a radiofrequency transmitter or receiver easier.
According to the ACMA, the free calculator is a one-stop-shop for working out the associated fees, and includes up-to-date pricing and flexibility across mobile and desktop platforms. It does not require apparatus licensees to register their personal details, and will be regularly updated to ensure licensees can make informed decisions about their licence options.
The ACMA charges a yearly fee for apparatus licences.
Licence fees include:
- fees for services
- a licence tax (taxes are adjusted each year for inflation)
Different fees apply to commercial broadcasters.
