The Australian Communications and Media Authority has opened a consultation on proposed new arrangements in the 7.2 GHz (7100–7425 MHz) band for television outside broadcast (TOB) services.
ACMA says it wants to replace the current analogue base interleaved channel arrangements with a new channel raster to support digital services. The changes are also intended to support the transition of TOB services as a result of its decision to replan the 2GHz band (1980–2010/2170–2200 MHz) for mobile satellite services.
ACMA says additional information on coordination requirements between TOB and earth receive stations operating in the band provides greater guidance to the industry.
The deadline for feedback is COB, Wednesday 27 July 2022.
