In November 2021, ACMA released a discussion paper on exploring future use of the 1.9GHz band. It identified domestic and international considerations for the 1880–1920MHz band and explored views on possible changes in planning arrangements.
The discussion paper consultation closed on 11 February 2022, and we received responses from 22 stakeholders and interested parties. You can access these on the consultation page.
From the submissions to the discussion paper, ACMA has decided to progress the review of the band to the preliminary replanning stage. We have released an options paper and now invite your views and comments.
The consultation period for your responses to the options paper will close at 5 pm (AEDT) on 17 March 2023.
ACMA will share your views on the options paper for further public consultation. This will be called the ‘reply to comment’ period, which will begin on 24 March and close on 21 April 2023.
