Alive 90.5 FM’s ‘Super’ Mario to Attempt Guinness Livestream Record

A Sydney community radio station might just bear witness to a new Guinness World Record when podcaster and author, Mario Bekes, attempts a 56-hour continuous broadcast from the studios of Alive 90.5 FM from 11am, 29th April, 2023.

Conducted under the auspices of Guinness World Records, Mario will be gunning for the title of “Longest Audio Only Live-Stream”.

Located in the historic Balcombe Heights Estate on Seven Hills Road, Alive 90.5 FM, is a community radio station with a history of over 25 years serving the Sydney areas of Hills, Parramatta and Cumberland.

Featuring two broadcast/recording studios, the station uses a Helios FM Transmitter and ZCG Scalar mixed polarisation 2-bay antenna to broadcast at a full 200W to its north and 60W to the south.

In preparing for the attempt, Mario said, “A great thank you to everyone at Alive 90.5 FM who helped me achieve this goal, from the Board to the Presenters, for making the radio station available for me to break the world record.”
