Aspiring Malaysian filmmakers are invited to participate in the Ulagam Short Film Contest from until 30 June 2023 for a chance to win cash prizes and the opportunity to produce a telemovie.
To participate, contestants need to:
- Create an original 20-minute short Tamil film with a Malaysian theme.
- Create a film poster for their short film.
- Complete the contest entry form, submit their short film and poster via https://www.astroulagam.com.my.
Winners of the competition will be selected based on originality, creativity, acting, cinematography, editing, script and screenplay by a panel of judges.
Ten winners will take home the following cash prizes:
- 1st place winner: RM10,000 and an opportunity to produce a telemovie which will premiere on Astro.
- 2nd place winner: RM8,000.
- 3rd place winner: RM6,000.
- Seven consolation prize winners: RM3,000
