Gravity Media, the provider of live production and media services, has detailed the broadcast technology and television production undertaking that saw Gravity Media Australia create and deliver Australia Welcomes Modi, the key public event during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Australia.
Prime Minister Modi shared the stage with Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at Australia Welcomes Modi before an audience of 20,000 people at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney’s Olympic Park and a significant global television audience across Australia, India, and other major international markets.
The event included 3 hours of cultural performances and forecourt festival.
Gravity Media Australia was appointed last month by the Indian Australian Diaspora Foundation as the broadcast technology and production partner for Australia Welcomes Modi.
In a complex technology and logistics undertaking, Gravity Media deployed state-of-the-art high definition outside broadcast trucks and satellite units to deliver coverage of the event to television networks and news organisations in Australia and around the world.
In addition to creating and producing the global all-screens coverage of Australia Welcomes Modi, Gravity Media Australia also delivered the separate unilateral broadcast technology requirements for Doordarshan, India’s public service broadcaster, in its coverage of the event for audiences in India.
Gravity Media Australia’s Production Centre in Sydney was entrusted with creating and delivering all encoded feeds for multiple YouTube channels and service Australian and international television networks and news agencies requirements.
Beyond this broadcast technology undertaking, Gravity Media was appointed by the Indian Australian Diaspora Foundation to furnish the complete event production, including venue and event technical direction, lighting, audio and stage management, and coordination with authorities and the teams for Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Albanese, along with working closely with the Foundation to deliver a major event for not only the 20,000 people in the audience but a significant global television, online and streaming audience.
The Indian Australian Diaspora Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that encourages cooperation between Australia and India, advancing the shared values of democracy, inclusive economic development, and mutual respect. The Foundation brings together Indian-Australian organisations and institutions to encourage collaboration within the region and expand opportunities for engagement with India.
Sayee Ganjekar, Indian Australian Diaspora Foundation, said: “We are deeply grateful for the support and coverage provided by Gravity Media. The quality of the event coverage surpassed all expectations.
