Hong Kong’s Open TV, International Business Channel Go Free-to-Air

Hong Kong Open TV and Hong Kong International Business Channel (HKIBC) have commenced the first phase of using the Free-to-Air TV spectrum for transmission. The two existing free TV channels, Channel 77 Hong Kong Open TV and Channel 76 Hong Kong International Business Channel, as well as Channel 78, the additional TV programme channel which will be launched by the end of 2022, are arranged to be transmitted via the spectrum. Hong Kong Open TV and HKIBC aim to gradually increase the population coverage in order to serve a larger local television audience by Q4 of 2022.

Hong Kong Open TV and HKIBC will use both spectrum and fixed network for transmission. If the audiences cannot receive the channels, it is suggested to inform their building management office for making the arrangements of the relevant CABD system and IBCCDS reconfiguration, as well as to rescan the TV sets or DTT receivers for receiving the spectrum signal.
