Hong Kong’s CABLE TV has launched a European movie channel, My Cinema Europe (HD Ch.202/ SD Ch.252). According to the pay operator, it is Asia’s first dedicated movie channel for European films featuring exclusive first-run box office hits, Oscar-nominated and award-winning movies, festival hits and classics from Germany, England, Ireland, Italy, France, Spain, Sweden, Norway and other European countries, many of which have never been shown in Hong Kong theatres.
A catch-up feature is also available on-demand for designated CABLE TV subscribers. The movie line-up includes “L’intervallo”, an Italian movie presented at the Venice Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival, and “Domen över död man”, a Swedish film adapted from a true story of a World War II reporter. The content will be available soon with Chinese subtitles.
