ARN’s iHeartRadio Australia has launch curated and personalised playlists via its free app. Organised by mood, activity, decade, and genre, the new playlist feature also those listening to live radio streams to add songs playing live to their own personal playlists.
The feature has also launched with playlists handpicked by Australian radio personalities including Kyle & Jackie O, Christian O’Connell and Amanda Keller; podcasts (including Life Uncut’s Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne and The Imperfects); and music (including Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Post Malone).
Using data science, the iHeart app also generates playlists based on what listeners enjoy most. AI-infused playlists include ‘Your Weekly Mixtape’, a playlist based on the music you love, ‘Your Weekly Chill’ and ‘Your Weekly Workout’.
The new iHeart playlists have a special focus on supporting local artists, with several Australian-only playlists, including ‘New Aus’, ‘New Country’, ‘First Nations’, ‘BBQ Bangers’, ‘Pub Rock’ and ‘Pop’ and ‘Hip-Hop’.
According to the company, the addition of the new playlist feature also provides a range of advertiser integration opportunities, including branded playlists amplified across ARN’s audiosphere.
