Indonesia’s Digdaya TV and Diamond World TV Rely on Nextream and X-Pert Multimedia Solutions

Indonesian system integrator Nextream is delivering services, based on PT Horizzon Global Media (PT HGM) OBI brand and fueled by X-Pert Multimedia Solutions (XMS) technologies. Six channels of the Indonesian television Diamond World TV and one channel of Digdaya TV are relying on the flagship products of the PT HGM – OBI Play (based on X-Pert’s Playout), OBI Graphics (based on X-Pert’s Graphics) and OBI Capture (based on X-Pert’s Ingest).

“The products of X-Pert Multimedia Solutions have powerful performance and are very flexible and easy to operate. The solutions are cost effective and run on a quite ordinary hardware”, commented Winarso Wardhani, Head of Business Solution Department within Nextream. “We are extremely satisfied with the support services X-Pert Multimedia Solutions is providing to us. Most of the clients change their requirements during the project implementation phase and it’s very important to react quickly, to be flexible and to think out of the box. That’s exactly what XMS engineers do.”

His company has been providing system integration services to the broadcast industry since 2013 and has been partnering with PT Horizzon Global Media since 2017. Last year PT HGM, the Indo-nesian partner of X-Pert Multimedia Solutions, announced an own OBI brand fueled by XMS lead-ing technologies and solutions.

X-Pert Multimedia Solutions product list includes advanced media and broadcast software covering different aspects of broadcasting process: playout, live production, digital media asset manage-ment, IP broadcasting, TV automation, ad insertion and ingest. In June during BroadcastAsia 2019 the company presented its upgraded Playout, Graphics and Ingest giving new experience to the customers. The company will showcase its products at IBC2019, September 13 – 17, Amsterdam.

The playout automation solution – X-Pert Playout now supports HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) tech-nology, which allows easy through a system firewall to mobile devices. In addition now X-Pert Playout has SCTE-104 over SDI and SCTE 35 reading triggers over IP enabling insertion of graphics, logos and tickers without changing the broadcast infrastructure. Generation of triggers is also available.

X-Pert Playout (XP), meanwhile, provides playout automation processes. Its modular architecture makes it suitable for broadcasting organisations of any size who need seamless content playout automation. Available in UHD/HD/SD-SDI or IP streaming, X-Pert Playout secures unattended operations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

MPEG2, AVC/H.264, HDV and DV compression scalability, hardware independence are features of X-Pert Playout. Suitable for time-critical live operations. Professional device sup-port through GPI, RS232, VDCP is also available. Redundant playout makes it suitable for fail-safe environments.

X-Pert Playout Multi Parallel Output – XP MPO enables the running of two or more outputs so that broadcasters can easily provide parallel outputs in any combination needed to deliver the content. UHD SDI, HD SDI, SD SDI (with real-time re-scaling) playout and IP streaming output, or for ex-ample, output in H.264 (MPEG-4) and MPEG-2 at the same time.

X-Pert Playout supports MPEG1/2/H.264, HDV and DV streams from virtually every known pro-duction platform providing AVI, MPEG, WMV, Quick Time or MXF content. Files from third-party servers are natively supported.

For live productions, any changes to the playlist during on-air session are possible. There are no qued or locked clips. Every clip in the playlist, except the one which is currently playing, can be trimmed, edited or re-positioned. Moreover, playlist order can be changed on-the-fly with com-mands like skip to next or jump. Such order changes are performed seamlessly without stopping the current playout session. Live productions are facilitated by the powerful Live Show presets which allows insertion and/or execution of various events or live streams.

X-Pert Graphics (XG) is a user-friendly on-air CG and graphics manager. It lets users create different static or dynamic objects such as rolls, crawls, multi-layered simultaneous still pictures, analogue and digital clocks, animated logos , etc., and save them in projects. Those could easily be used for direct broadcasting or as customised templates for future use. In addition, X-Pert Graphics has a built-in Scheduler which lets you start objects from previously cre-ated project(s) at different times.

X-Pert Graphics can run as a standalone solution or run in the background, without its front-end interface. This allows all objects and slide actions to be triggered by a third-party OEM software which sends its script commands via network protocol. X-Pert Graphics is designed to work in sync with the X-Pert Playout. X-Pert Ingest (XI) enables multiple channels of HD or SD content to be captured from HD/SD SDI digital feeds, analogue sources and MPEG transport streams. Four video sources can be monitored on a single screen and controlled via a new streamlined user interface. Audio levels can be monitored as loudness/true-peak displays and adjusted when required.

Content ingested to X-Pert Ingest is available for playback within a few seconds of capture commencing. The X-Pert Ingest feature set also includes capture-list import from third-party traffic sys-tems, support for CEA-608/708 closed-captioning and automated VTR control via RS-422 with batch-capture listing.
