LiSTNR Finishes 2022 as Australia’s Number One Podcast Network

In the December 2022 Triton Podcast Ranker released today, LiSTNR finished 2022 as Australia’s number one podcast network with more than 5.383 million monthly listeners.

LiSTNR also retained the number one podcasts in their genre, including Hamish and Andy as Australia’s favourite comedy podcast, 7am with Schwartz Media as the number one news podcast, and The Howie Games as the number one sports podcast in the Top 150 Podcast ranker.

LiSTNR has eight of the top 20 podcast titles – the most of any publisher – and 19 podcasts in the top 50, with some notable debuts and rapid rises across December.

Some of the LiSTNR network podcasts in the top 20 include CrimeJunkie, Morbid, It’s A Lot with Abbie Chatfield, SmartLess, and On Purpose with Jay Shetty.

LiSTNR’s original docu-series podcast, The Children in the Pictures, jumped 15 places in the Top 150 Podcasts and made its debut in the top 40 All Australian Podcasts ranker.

Other impressive listener increases came from Just the Gist, up 11 places on the Top 150 Podcasts ranker, while Matt and Alex’s All Day Breakfast rose by 10 places. In addition, children’s podcast Bedtime Explorers, which just launched its ninth season, made its return in the ranker.

The crime genre continues to prove popular, with LiSTNR network podcasts from Wondery and Stitcher, including Crime Junkie, My Favourite Murder with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, Something Was Wrong, Small Town Murder and True Crime Garage all performing well.

The LiSTNR network also has the most podcasts ranked in the Top 50 Podcasts including Just the Gist, My Favorite Murder, The Briefing, 2 Bears 1 Cave with Tom Segura + Bert Kreischer, Freakonomics Radio, Hamish + Andy’s Remembering Project, Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, Last Podcast On The Left, Triple M’s The Marty Sheargold Show, and KICPOD.
