Broadcast Electronics, the developer of transmitters for AM, FM, HD Radio, TV, and media software, recently partnered with Tech Twist Corporation of the Philippines and its client FBS Radio Network to upgrade their station, Mellow Touch 94.7, with the new BE ETX 25000 – a 25kW FM transmitter. The new ETX transmitter will be on display for the first time at the 2025 NAB Show (April 5-9, Las Vegas Convention Center), where BE will exhibit at Booth W3301.
Broadcasting from the heart of Metro Manila, Philippines, FBS Radio Network station Mellow 94.7 offers a distinctive musical experience that seamlessly blends adult hits with Top 40 tracks. Catering to a broad audience, the station provides an eclectic mix of music that appeals to both young adults and mature listeners.
Broadcast Electronics partner, Tech Twist Corporation, worked closely with Mellow 94.7 for planning, installation, and commissioning services. Together, they selected the BE ETX 25000, which offers the best combination of excellent energy efficiency, superior audio performance, ultra-reliable operation, and industry-leading customer support.
“The climate of Manila makes the reduction of air conditioning loads and energy consumption of the radio station critically important,” said Peter L. Olase of Tech Twist Corporation. “BE’s ETX delivers ultra-high energy efficiency and long-term cool operation, which substantially lowers cooling and electricity costs for Mellow 94.7.”
“The compact design of the ETX line allowed for 25kW of power in a single cabinet, making it much smaller than other options,” said Gerald Cabrillos of Ergaxia-Philippines, who led the installation of the new ETX transmitter. “The installation was straightforward, and the transmitter was simple to operate and sounded great on the air.”
“We are excited about our partnership with Tech Twist Corporation and their customer Mellow 94.7 and thank them for selecting BE to help deliver their content to listeners in Manila,” said Rich Redmond, President and COO of Broadcast Electronics. “The new ETX line offers excellent energy efficiency, a digital direct-to-channel FM modulator, and ultra-reliable, highly efficient hot-pluggable power supplies to deliver maintainability and robustness at an exceptional price.”
