OzTAM Tender For Australian Total Video Measurement Service

OzTAM, Australia’s industry standard for understanding viewing behaviour, recently announced that it will conduct a tender for its Total Video Measurement service contract.

As OzTAM continues to evolve its audience measurement services into a Total Video ecosystem, the tender forms an important part of ensuring the technologies, methodologies and capabilities underpinning the service continue to meet the future needs of Australia’s media industry. To support this process, OzTAM has engaged Pure X Media, an independent consultancy with specialist expertise in audience measurement tender processes and cross-media measurement.

The tender will adopt a modular approach, allowing participants to bid for specific components of the measurement service or for the complete end-to-end solution. The request for proposal (RFP) process will run during the second half of 2026, with a decision expected in Q1 2027.

Karen Halligan, Chief Executive Officer of OzTAM, said: “Video audience measurement plays a critical role in providing the transparency and accountability that underpins Australia’s media market. This process is about ensuring OzTAM continues to deliver the trusted measurement services our industry relies on, both today and into the future.

“Over the past 25 years, Nielsen has been an invaluable partner in the delivery and evolution of OzTAM’s audience measurement services. We value that longstanding relationship and welcome their participation in the tender process.”

Nielsen, along with Milton Data, will remain OzTAM’s research service providers throughout the duration of the tender process, with the expectation that existing audience measurement services and currency operations will continue uninterrupted during this period.
