Samsung TV Plus Expands Sports Channels with FIFA+

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced that FIFA+ is the latest global addition to Samsung TV Plus as part of the continued growth of the brand’s free-access sports offering for Samsung customers. The FIFA+ FAST channel on Samsung TV Plus will feature the football giant’s rich offering of original documentaries, archive footage, and highlights from previous Men’s and Women’s games, building upon the existing sports content on Samsung TV Plus, which in Australia includes the DAZN Women’s Football Channel, The Rugby Network, MAVTV Motorsports, and more.

The announcement coincides with the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 in Australia and New Zealand and will feature a host of content, including highlights, player stories and more – both long and short form.

Samsung TV Plus, the free ad-supported streaming TV service from the world’s leading TV manufacturer, is exclusively available on more than 3 Million Samsung smart TVs in Australia and New Zealand and will give its users access to FIFA+, and all it has to offer, without the need for an antenna or additional application – just an Internet connection.

The new collaboration between Samsung TV Plus and FIFA+ demonstrates the growth of FAST channels and the evolving streaming landscape, as further investment continues to pour into highly-demanded sports content within a free ad-supported TV setting. The launch of this new channel on Samsung TV Plus bolsters Samsung’s ongoing commitment to providing a wide range of high-quality sports content that meets the evolving needs of today’s viewers, and cements the transformative role FAST is playing within the total TV viewing experience.

The FIFA+ channel on Samsung TV Plus will offer customers access to thousands of hours of FIFA+ content. Delivering global storytelling around the men’s and women’s game, FIFA+ Originals will feature full-length documentaries, docuseries, talk shows and shorts. These include ‘The Happiest Man in the World’ (the genius, maverick, mentor and rebel that is Ronaldinho), ‘Croatia: Defining a Nation’ (the story of how a group of footballers defined a new nation through football), and ‘Bravas de Juárez’ (the inspiring sacrifices behind the dream of a Latin American women’s football team), among countless others.

The FIFA+ Archive will become home to every previous FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup match recorded on camera. In addition to these full match replays, editorial style programming will also be available, including tournament match highlights, goal packages, team focused programming and dedicated player profiles.

According to Alex Spurzem, GM Samsung Ads ANZ, “Australia and New Zealand are two of the world’s biggest sports-loving nations. The addition of the FIFA+ channel to our ever-expanding portfolio of sports on Samsung TV Plus demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to providing incredible value and unrivalled access, not just to our audiences, but also our advertisers – who can reach these highly sought-after and engaged sporting audiences in a free streaming setting. As we play host to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, Samsung TV Plus will be able to provide football fans with access to 24/7 FIFA+ content.”
