In the early hours of March 4, the MTV Music and National Geographic channels carried on Sky New Zealand were switched to HD.
According to the broadcaster, the switch is “part of Sky’s ongoing commitment to improve the way we deliver sports and entertainment to Kiwis”.
To date, 50 channels have been upgraded to HD – and there are more plans in the pipeline.
SKY channels that currently offer content in HD, including Soho, Soho2, SKY Box Sets, 9 channels of dedicated SKY Sport, SKY Sport Pop Up 1-4 (when they’re on), ESPN, ESPN 2, SKY Movies Premiere, SKY Movies Extra, SKY Movies Action, SKY Movies Greats, SKY Movies Classics, SKY Movies Family, Prime, Vibe, MTV, Comedy Central, Discovery, BBC Earth, Maori Television, TVNZ, Duke and TV 3, Te Reo, Trackside 1 and Trackside 2.
