From Wednesday the 6th to Sunday the 17th of June 2018, the 65th Sydney Film Festival brings the world’s best new films to Sydney for 12 days and nights of inspiring and entertaining premieres, talks, parties, international director and actor guests and more. This year Sydney Film Festival (SFF) has chosen Silver Trak Digital as their key programming production partner with Silver Trak responsible for managing the logistics and quality of all the Digital Cinema Packages (DCP) submitted and more.
Silver Trak CEO Tim Creswell said, “We are responsible for the creation and updating of multiple films, shorts and advertising DCPs for the Festival. We are also responsible for the delivery of these films for each screening including having a heavy validation completed on each DCP received and ensuring the films’ projectionist receives all vital information so the festival runs as smoothly as possible.”
The decision to use Silver Trak came after an exhaustive and comprehensive evaluation process by the Festival’s program coordinator Andrew Perkins as he explained, “I met with Silver Trak with a view to finding a better, more efficient and cost effective solution programming and production solution. The brief included Silver Trak being responsible for downloading, QC spot check and validating hundreds of DCPs from various locations and they had to create and repair DCPs throughout the Festival. We also wanted them to provide comprehensive technical support. I’m happy to say that Silver Trak was able to supply all of the above at a cost that worked within the SFF’s budget.”
