Short-video platform, TikTok, has announced the #cricketmania in-app challenge ahead of Australia’s highly anticipated match against India on 8th June at the ICC Cricket World Cup.
Empowering people to capture and share moments that matter in their lives, directly from their smartphones, TikTok is a platform that allows users to showcase their creativity and interact with other users. With the launch of the #cricketmania challenge, Australians from all walks of life, united by their love of cricket, will have the opportunity to show off their cricket moves, and cheer for team Australia.
TikTok encourages creation through easy-to-use video capturing and editing tools, and have specially designed cricket-themed stickers that users can use to enhance their videos as well as further and express their support for Team Australia in their own unique and creative way throughout the tournament.
TikTok users can follow the Cricket World Cup and get access to some of the most exciting sporting and behind-the-scene moments from the tournament through ICC’s official TikTok account. For example, users can gain insight into how the players from across the world are gearing up for the upcoming matches and check out fun moments from their daily lives.
The #cricketmania challenge will continue to drive cricket conversations online in Australia. According to a 2018 report, the S.T.A.R. Report, Australian cricket sparks more online conversations than any other sport – with an estimated social media audience of more than 68 million local and international social media followers, around a third of all sport-related social media audiences.
