The Australian Communications and Media Authority has released a consultation paper that seeks comment on proposed changes to the 2.3GHz (2302–2400 MHz) spectrum licence technical framework. The paper is part of the ACMA’s broader work program outlined in the Five-year spectrum outlook 2020–24 (FYSO), to review existing spectrum licence technical frameworks.
The consultation paper proposes changes to:
- conditions on 2.3 GHz band spectrum licences
- the Radiocommunications (Unacceptable Levels of Interference – 2.3 GHz Band) Determination 2013
- section 6.5 of Radiocommunications Assignment and Licensing Instruction (RALI) FX21: Television outside broadcasting services.
The paper also assesses the effect the proposed changes may have on incumbent services.
The consultation closes at 5pm (AEDT) on Friday 22 January 2021. Contact freqplan@acma.gov.au with any enquiries.
