Vizrt has announced that ausbiz is embracing Vizrt studio automation tools in their new studio. ausbiz is a new business and financial news channel based in Sydney, Australia. Specifically, ausbiz will use Viz Verdi powered by NDI and Viz Pilot Edge . These tools help create dynamic programming at a much lower cost and with greater operational flexibility than traditional SDI-based terrestrial channels and control rooms.
Set to launch within the next month, ausbiz will be available free through a dedicated iOS app, web app and through other distribution partners, including Twitter. The channel will originate from new studios at International Towers in Sydney’s Barangaroo precinct. ausbiz will produce eight hours a day of dynamic and fast-paced programming with a wide variety of data-driven graphics and live interviews.
“By using IP-based Viz Verdi and Viz Pilot Edge tools from Vizrt, ausbiz can operate their channel with much less technical complexity and cost than traditional workflows. This allows them to focus more energy and resources on their primary objective – presenting market news,” said Michael Namatinia, President of Vizrt APAC. “Data-driven graphics are critical to any business-focused news channel. Using Vizrt’s software-defined visual storytelling tools puts their capabilities on par with the world’s top news broadcasters.”
Viz Verdi is a cutting-edge studio automation tool and a powerful, 44-input, software-based production switcher. Viz Verdi with IP-based infrastructure and NDI enables ausbiz to efficiently produce and re-purpose more content on more platforms. NDI is the standard and most widely used video over IP protocol in the world, opening up creative possibilities that previously did not exist.
Viz Pilot Edge is the latest version of Vizrt’s innovative newsroom template graphics solution.
It helps journalists create, manage and deliver high volumes of top-quality Vizrt graphics, videos, and maps. All mentioned elements are rendered by the ultimate real-time compositor, Viz Engine which visualises complex financial data in highly informative and visually appealing graphics.
This project is one of the first Viz Verdi installations in the world and the first Viz Pilot Edge installation in Australia. It is also one of the first channels to benefit from Vizrt’s Newsroom Standard Package which is ideal for light and efficient modern newsrooms.
