Alcons Pro-Ribbon Sound Systems

The NAMM Show is a global crossroads of music, sound and entertainment technology. Alcons Audio, one of Europe’s developers/manufacturers of professional sound systems, is offering attendees the first opportunity to hear the power and clarity of the new Alcons LR24/90 mid-size line-array sound system during the Loudspeaker System Showcase, held in the Arena. Featuring multi-patented pro-ribbon transducer technology for 90 percent-less distortion with exceptional transient-response, intelligibility and throw, Alcons sound systems are quickly becoming the essential tool in the live sound engineer’s toolbox.

The LR24/90 is a three-way, ‘mid-size’ format line-source sound system. Loaded with Alcons’ multiple-patented pro-ribbon technology for mid and high frequencies, the system features a super-fast impulse response with up to 90 percent less distortion. This results in a fully intuitive linear response, with perfect intelligibility and non-compressed identical tonal balance at any SPL.

LR7

The LR7 is a passive two-way ‘micro-sized’ line-array sound system, to be used as vertical array, either in stacked or flown configuration, for both portable and permanent installations. Loaded with the RBN401 pro-ribbon driver on a ‘Morpher’ lens (up to 94 percent frontal radiation), the system offers a very high throw-efficiency and projection control up to directly under the array, due to the pro-ribbon’s all-natural cylindrical (Isophasic) wavefront.

BC543

The BC543 is a self-contained, high-output cardioid subwoofer system for both permanent and portable applications. It is designed to offer a very high output, tight and accurate sub-bass response, as low-frequency extension of any Alcons pro-ribbon system. By means of a front and rear located woofer configuration, in combination with dedicated processing, the system offers selectable cardioid low-frequency pattern control and excellent rear rejection (up to 42dB), without the need for additional cabinets.

Sentinel

The proprietary designed and developed Sentinel Amplified Loudspeaker Controllers are the engine behind every Alcons system and are designed to get the absolute maximum performance out of the pro-ribbon systems. The ALC Sentinel features a powerful four-channel DPS-based controller with ClassD amplifier stages. The four individually addressable inputs accept analogue or up to 192kHz digital AES3 signals, that are up/down sampled to 96kHz. by the custom high-end sample rate converters.
