The Australian Screen Sound Guild (ASSG) has announced the winners of its Amplify 2021: A Sound Redesign Competition.
Sponsored by ProSoundEffects, Avid, iZOTOPE, and Soundflow, the Amplify competition challenged entrants to redesign the sound for scenes from sci-fi short I Am Mother or animation The Strange Chores.
“We were very impressed with the effort and creativity shown in your re-design of I Am Mother and The Strange Chores,” said the ASSG Committee. “The judges have awarded Hamish Keen (I Am Mother) and Salena Raine (The Strange Chores) with the top prize.”
The Amplify winners have both won $3580 worth in prizes, and will receive Pro Sound Effect’s CORE Standard Library, as well as an annual Pro Tools Ultimate license courtesy of ASSG Sponsors Avid, twelve months free SoundFlow Cloud Pro, and Izotope Music Production Suite 4.
The ASSG Committee also gave an Encouragement Award to Heath Storrie. Heath will be receiving an ASSG Annual Membership. Honourable mentions went to Yushu Hou and Stuart J Melvey who impressed the I Am Mother judges.
