Blackmagic Design has announced Blackmagic Camera for Android 2.0, which adds support for selected Android tablets, including Xiaomi Pad 6 and Samsung Tab S9, as well as the new Samsung S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra phones.
This update also adds support for remotely controlling and monitoring multiple phones or tablets simultaneously. Users can now set their device as the controller and change settings for all Blackmagic Cameras on the same WiFi network. They can also view each camera’s shots in a multi-view, as well as simultaneously start and stop recording on all cameras.
Additionally, this update introduces support for capturing up to 120 and 240 fps on supported Sony Xperia devices and adds compatibility with Tilta Nucleus USB devices for lens control. Blackmagic Camera is now available from Google Play, free of charge.
Blackmagic Camera unlocks the power of Android phones and tablets by adding digital film camera controls and operating systems.
It functions just like a professional digital film camera, allowing users to adjust settings such as frame rate, shutter angle, white balance, and ISO with a single tap. They can also record directly to Blackmagic Cloud in industry-standard files up to 8K. Blackmagic Cloud Storage enables collaboration on DaVinci Resolve projects with editors worldwide in real time.

Users can use the media tab to browse or scrub clips for quick review, search, and sort media, and view the upload status of their files. They can also link to their DCIM folder and select clips to upload to Blackmagic Cloud. Media can be stored on the phone, uploaded manually to Blackmagic Cloud Storage, or synced directly into a DaVinci Resolve project.
Blackmagic Camera also records an HD proxy file in addition to the camera-original media. This small proxy file can be uploaded to Blackmagic Cloud within seconds, making footage available at the studio in real time. This revolutionary workflow allows editors worldwide to access footage instantly.
