CODEX, an X2X Media Group brand, will be highlighting the production benefits of its capture drive eco-system featuring the new 1TB Compact Drive for the ARRI Alexa Mini LF camera. In addition, CODEX will demonstrate its cost-efficient High-Density Encoding (HDE) for ARRIRAW images and more on Stand 121 at BSC Expo 2020, which takes place in London 31 January – 1 February at Battersea Evolution Expo in London.
CODEX is the exclusive media supplier for ARRI’s new ALEXA Mini LF camera featuring the Compact Drive, designed exclusively in partnership with the company. The ALEXA Mini LF is a small camera that captures large format ARRIRAW images. High Density Encoding can reduce the file size of the ARRIRAW by almost 2:1 upon copy when offloading the media from the Compact Drives, significantly reducing the cost of production and archive storage.
Highlighting the close relationship between the two companies, the CODEX booth will feature an ARRI ALEXA LF, connected to the PIX Real-Time Onset cart, demonstrating a proof of concept real-time camera shot review system. The company will also be promoting its high-performance shared storage Media Vault Network Attached Storage solution, which provides the ability to securely back-up data on-set and bridge the data gap from production to post.
Finally, CODEX’s VP Business Development, Brian Gaffney, will be talking on a panel sponsored by Mission Digital on January 31 at 1:25p.m. at Mission Digital’s booth #504 to discuss the value and benefits of utilising a CODEX HDE workflow, and how it serves the creative process, while also speeding up the process by providing increased efficiency and saving productions costs.
