FUJIFILM Australia has announced the launch of the FUJINON GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, a new interchangeable lens for the GFX ETERNA 55 camera which is equipped with a large format sensor approximately 1.7 times larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor.
The GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR is the second power zoom lens in the GF lens line-up, offering a focal length of 19–35mm, equivalent to 15–28mm in 35mm format. It combines excellent operability for filmmaking production with high build quality. The lens inherits the operability and design of the Premista Series while adopting a configuration optimised for power zoom and a DC motor, achieving a lightweight design of approximately 2.1 kg. When used with the FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55, it supports efficient and high-quality filmmaking workflows.
In recent years, filmmaking production has required both workflow efficiency and high image quality. Together with the GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, this lens enables coverage from ultra-wide-angle to standard ranges, while identical dimensions allow efficient lens changes using common accessories.
The GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR achieves high resolution comparable to a prime lens, despite being a zoom lens, by minimising optical aberrations to the utmost degree. When paired with the GFX Series, it enables high-quality video expression that fully leverages the system’s superior tonal gradation and exceptional detail reproduction.
In addition, the lens maintains a bright maximum aperture of T3.5 throughout the zoom range, allowing for precise exposure control in line with the creator’s intent.
Furthermore, it delivers consistent colour reproduction and tonal characteristics with the GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, enabling seamless integration when both lenses are used within the same production, thereby improving efficiency in post-production workflows.
When used in combination, the GFX ETERNA 55, GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR and GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR enable a streamlined shooting style that minimises both equipment requirements and crew workload. This combination not only enhances production efficiency but also significantly expands creative flexibility, opening up new possibilities in filmmaking.
