Bitmovin, a provider of video streaming infrastructure, returns to IBC 2022 (Hall 5, Stand C68) where visitors will experience what the future of video will be. Bitmovin will showcase its full suite of solutions across VOD and Live encoding as well as its new Playback product category, which empower developers to deliver superior viewing experiences more efficiently to audiences worldwide for renowned media and entertainment brands.
“The new era of video streaming has arrived, and Bitmovin is at the forefront of technical excellence that’s empowering developers to deliver high-quality streams at speed and scale,” said Stefan Lederer, CEO and co-founder of Bitmovin. “Visitors will discover how our technology is continuing to redefine what makes an exceptional viewing experience.”
IBC attendees will be introduced to innovations across the following categories:
- VOD: Bitmovin’s Next-Generation VOD Encoder offers 50 percent higher quality at the same bitrates than other encoders. The efficient use of bitrate ladder optimisations like Per-Title Encoding and Multi-Codec streaming, including HEVC, VP9, AV1 and VVC reduce the CDN, Storage and overall total costs. Last but not least, Bitmovin’s distributed chunk-based encoding enables fast turnaround times of assets, including 4K and HDR, reducing encoding time from hours to minutes.
- Live: Bitmovin launches its new cloud agnostic Live Event Encoder, which ensures unbreakable live streaming in the highest quality possible. This software solution is more resilient and efficient than other live event encoding products available on the market. The offering is suitable for all users, with a web based interface for live event operations teams, or comprehensive API for deep application integrations.
- Playback: This new product category is the next evolution of streaming infrastructure for streaming devices, combining three core solutions for testing, deploying and optimising video playback. Playback embeds video playback into mobile, web and big screen applications with automated testing and optimisations to deliver the highest quality viewing experiences, giving developers more time to work on new feature development.
“Now more than ever, it’s essential for video streaming services of any size to deliver the quality of experience consumers expect and deserve in a more sustainable way. Our products and solutions, which we will announce very soon, optimize encoding, live streaming and playback while simultaneously delivering superior viewing experiences to global audiences” concluded Lederer.
