Growing Array of Live Production and Delivery Services from The Switch

The Switch, a leading global provider of production services and delivery of live video, will spotlight the latest capabilities of its rapidly growing service offering and global network presence at NAB Show 2023, and how it is empowering global media players to meet the future.

NAB Show 2023 is set to be the global launch platform for the newly combined Tata Media and Entertainment, and The Switch, following the acquisition that was announced in late December. The merged forces of The Switch’s strong presence in North America and Tata Media and Entertainment’s global position will create a formidable powerhouse in the global media ecosystem helping broadcasters, operators, rights holders and enterprises to harness emerging digital consumption patterns to drive innovation and disruption.

Visitors to The Switch booth (West Hall, #W2301) will explore and learn more about the capabilities of its expanding MIMiC Cloud Video Services platform and traditional production and transmission services, including case studies demonstrating how the company powers global coverage of the world’s most talked-about live events.

“We have developed our live cloud, remote production and global transmission capabilities as the content creation and distribution ecosystem has continued to rapidly evolve in line with changing consumer behavior,” said Robert Szabo-Rowe, Senior Vice President, Engineering and Product Management at The Switch. “We’re excited to meet with customers and partners at NAB Show in Las Vegas to share our latest updates and hear more about their specific challenges and needs.”

The Switch empowers the world’s leading media organisations to securely package and deliver high-quality live coverage from any location, including sports and esports leagues, news organisations, enterprises, entertainment event producers, broadcasters, rightsholders and other content owners. Its infrastructure-as-a-service model allows its customers to safely accelerate the adoption of remote production from any event worldwide. At the same time, MIMiC brings unmatched agility to a huge variety of media companies, enterprises and other businesses worldwide.

“We have seen the market embrace MIMiC, our cloud-based live production and delivery platform, as we have added new capabilities and are growing our offering in other areas too,” Szabo-Rowe adds. “At NAB Show, we will take visitors through how we have continued to build out our 100Gbit network to better support the needs of live content producers – supporting remote set-ups while opening the way for delivery of high-resolution video formats such as JPEG XS at the lowest latency possible. We are seeing a vast range of global media companies adopting new production methods to bring consumers an incredible assortment of compelling live events, and we are innovating to meet their needs. Working with The Switch gives these companies the proven reliability they need, so they can feel fully confident and secure as they deploy new technologies.”

The combination of MIMiC and The Switch’s traditional production and transmission offerings encompasses an all-inclusive, flexible mix of services that can fit any live event. The company’s services address linear TV, Over-the-top (OTT) streaming, social media clipping and editing, or the live delivery of specific closed-loop events. Leveraging its innovative mobile, remote, and cloud-based services, along with first-mile connectivity expertise and extensive global reach, The Switch is able to meet the specific needs of any sized organisation creating and distributing live content.
