IdeaNova Technologies recently announced it is expanding its Inconcert platform for live and VOD event streaming, adding new encryption features for secure payments, multiple camera angles, and optimised device management for superior streaming experiences. The Inconcert platform delivers both in-venue and at-home features that can, for example, enable purchases of merchandise, food, or other goods through IdeaNova’s Inplay Payment. Through IdeaNova VAST (video ad serving template) technology customers have additional options of content monetisation in the form of pre-roll, mid-roll or roadblock videos. Users can chat with each other during live events, and can ensure enhanced privacy and security features. The new features also deliver robust performance for any kind of bandwidth or device type.
IdeaNova has piloted its Inconcert platform over the past few months, including a DJ Alex concert, produced by Dewey Kasko. A wide range of other musical performances and educational events have also used Inconcert, which delivers a seamless suite of tools for producers, including detailed audience analytics.
Originally developed for the in-flight entertainment (IFE) market, Inconcert is optimized for maximal device usage, requiring limited onboard memory caching. IdeaNova, which counts United Airlines, PlusUltra, TEAC, and other leaders of the aviation industry as major customers, is now expanding into broader industry verticals for its streaming solutions. The company’s end-to-end secure streaming software includes digital rights management (DRM), watermarking, and a wide array of players capable of playing live and VOD content on any device. IdeaNova was one of the first companies to develop a secure player for Apple TV, and works with the likes of Thales and Bluebox, among others.
“We have built a system that can work at 35,000 feet and at sea level, to enable highly secure streaming with multiple views, camera angles, and privacy-by-design for secure payments, which is ready out of the box,” said Juraj Siska, CEO of IdeaNova. “The value of Inconcert combined with our payment system will deliver a powerful solution for creative streaming professionals.”
Siska chairs an APEX working group with aviation industry professionals and studios regarding content protection and encoding, and the development of new algorithms.
“Inconcert is great for both consumers and content owners,” said Nick Sincaglia, president/founder of NueMeta, LLC. “We have a turn-key ticketing and secure streaming service which provides a multi-camera experience which consumers will love.”
The Inconcert platform can adjust streaming content quality to match bandwidth and end-user device capabilities and delivers control for artists to monetise live and virtual shows through seamless in-browser streaming, without need for downloads or plugins.
“We have been working with IdeaNova since the original launch of the Inconcert platform. We are very excited to utilize the improved functionality that will come with the latest release,” said Dewey Kasko, owner of RK Lighting. “From what we have seen so far, this technology can revolutionise online events and help us to serve our clients with more advanced solutions.”
IdeaNova operates in an autonomous environment with cloud-based servers, in case there is no connectivity and content needs to run locally, leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) and containers. Customers that need access to DRM FairPlay, Widevine or PlayReady servers benefit from this autonomous experience.
The Inconcert encryption methods ensure data security so that artists do not need to worry about recording issues. Inconcert supports hosting of both pre-recorded and live shows. Industrial usage – for educational content, corporate events, fitness, or spiritual content – creates new opportunities for monetization using all major credit cards. Inconcert also offers deep analytics for customers, including insights into time of day views, operating systems and devices most commonly used for viewing, and the ability to adjust content and platform performance.
