LYNX Technik, provider of modular signal processing interfaces, announces its new WFM 1801, a portable multi-format and multi-standard waveform monitor with built-in vectorscope and audio monitoring.
The WFM 1801 provides a solution for monitoring, evaluating, measuring and displaying the levels of an incoming video signal (up to 3G SDI), providing technicians and engineers with a versatile hand-held diagnostic solution for multiple formats and applications.
These features have several benefits to the production workflow providing an accurate way to calibrate signals from video equipment, compare incoming video signals and general signal analysis. Since it’s portable, this device is suitable for on-site productions and shoots, remote/at-home production and any time transporting traditional larger pieces of equipment is difficult.
The 5-inch integrated LCD touch-screen display provides a monochrome waveform, vector and audio monitoring for up to 16 channels. The integrated vectorscope measures the chrominance of a video signal, including hue and saturation. The device is also capable of SDI error detection and SDI cable length measurements.
The WFM 1801 is part of the Testor series of LYNX Technik solutions, and when bundled with the company’s PTG 1802 test pattern generator, provides an extensive testing and monitoring solution that fits in the palm of your hand.
