Facebook has announced new personalisation controls for its Reels feature, allowing users to customise what they want to see “more or less of in order” to make videos more relevant.
The social media giant has added Reels to the main navigation of Facebook Watch, making short-form video more discoverable, while users will now be able to scroll seamlessly between Reels and longer videos when watching content from creators. Facebook is also introducing new ways for users to personalise their video experience on the platform.
Users will be able to inform the types of Reels they see more or less of by tapping the three-dot menu at the bottom of the video player and selecting either “Show More” or “Show Less”.
The company is also launching new labels on the Reels video player to explain why certain Reels are being shown to users, such as because a friend liked it. Facebook has said Reels have become more social with people re-sharing them across its apps more than two billion times every day, doubling over the last six months.
