AR and VR have been in development for over 30 years but with only limited success so far despite spending over $5B in recent years. To understand why, we need to first look at the key problems we are trying to solve with AR and VR. For AR, it should be the need to perform a task in a hands-free manner, augmenting our physical world task providing the desired information when and where we need it. For VR, it is the ability to use an immersive experience, replacing our physical world with a digital world. AR and VR are different and yet complementary. In this webinar, Dr. Fan will discuss his Five Rules and his insight into what has worked and not worked in AR and VR product development.
