    Evolution of Remote Production

    May 25, 2021 @ 11:00 pm - May 26, 2021 @ 12:00 am

The definition of remote or REMI production has evolved over the past year. The activity of bringing contribution feeds from a remote venue or location to a central broadcast hub has evolved and expanded due to new conditions caused by the pandemic. Media companies had to quickly shift their production models for events to address many challenges, like limited access to facilities, possible travel restrictions due to public health safety, and other social distancing measures. Today, remote production has evolved to distributed production where contribution sources can arrive to a facility from multiple locations (venues and homes) across various types of networks (managed or unmanaged) and production staff produced content from home.   This session covers the key technology blocks that enable this evolution.

Product(s) covered: XPS, JPEG XS, Reflektor, on- and off-premise production, and VUE Anywhere
Presenter(s): Harjinder Sandhu and Stuart Akam
