    From OTA Antenna Measurement to 5G FR2 Device Test

    This seminar will introduce a wide range of topics from over-the-air (OTA) antenna measurement to terminal testing in the 5G FR2 band. We will talk about the basics of antenna measurement, and we will demonstrate the OTA-based antenna radiation pattern for a passive antenna. We will also talk in detail about the test methodologies adopted in 3gpp TS38.521-2, and we will present the most compact CATR solution with the R&S®ATS1800C. The system designed to test mmW devices in a big quiet zone, yet on a small chamber footprint, enables testing even with the head and hand phantoms. Finally, we will sum this up with a demo of 5G FR2 Signaling measurements, including a “Spherical Coverage test” and “TRP measurement”.

    Speaker Bio:
    Dr Benoît joined Rohde & Schwarz Munich headquarters since the year 2018 and led the R&D for EMC, OTA, antenna and A&D test systems, as Senior Director of Engineering. Dr Derat is also the author of more than 70 scientific conference and journal papers and an inventor on multiple patents relating to the antenna and electromagnetic field measurements.

    Maik Reckeweg is with Rohde & Schwarz Munich headquarters since 2008, initially as Product Manager for the company’s broad portfolio of antennas. Since 2018, he is currently a Senior Training Expert for OTA and antenna measurements in the training centre.
