This Highlights of FMX Live Show is revolving all around the fascination of mythical flying giants and how to bring them to life. Over a chat with Animationsinstitut’s Head of R&D Volker Helzle, the CCO and VFX Supervisor of Pixomondo, Sven Martin will grant us a glimpse into his successful VFX career of over 16 years.
Sven Martin worked his VFX magic on the dragons in one of HBO’s biggest successes, GAME OF THRONES. The alumnus of Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg already favored fire-breathing creatures in his diploma film RITTERSCHLAG. Who would have guessed, that he later on animates the fearsome but stunningly beautiful dragons of the infamous Mother of Dragons.
The Emmy-winning VFX Supervisor worked with top-class filmmakers like Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams, Zack Snyder, Jon Favreau and Lars Von Trier. Be there when Sven elaborates on the challenging differences between working on episodic projects with multiple directors like GAME OF THRONES and feature film projects with only one director like JUSTICE LEAGUE, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN or THE HUNGER GAMES.
