IP Oktoberfest 2020
September 30, 2020 @ 12:00 am - October 2, 2020 @ 3:00 am
The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) has announced that registration is open for IP Oktoberfest 2020, a live, interactive virtual event for broadcast and pro AV professionals to be held Sept. 29-Oct. 1 (AEST Sept 30 – Oct 2). The three-day event will highlight the industry’s significant progress toward an all-IP ecosystem supporting today’s real-world media productions.
There is no cost to participate.
Running daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT (12am to 3am AEST), IP Oktoberfest 2020 is not a webinar. This live event will provide participants with numerous opportunities for education, interaction, and networking in a dynamic, online environment that makes it easy to move freely between meeting areas — including a live presentation stage, virtual pub, and meeting and networking areas. Attendees will learn how the SMPTE ST 2110 suite of standards and the AMWA NMOS technology stack are improving media workflows for large and small deployments. The event will also highlight the new IPMX proposed set of open standards and specifications and the benefits they can bring to pro AV workflows.
Throughout the event, multiple themed “pub rooms” will facilitate group and private discussions about the issues that matter in further standards-based IP deployment and provide opportunities to network with technologists and industry peers on topics including AES67, NMOS, SMPTE ST 2110, JPEG XS, and IPMX.
IP Oktoberfest 2020 is designed to continue to provide attendees with the informative presentations and interactions they enjoyed from AIMS at live events in past years. Bringing technology developers and end users together and fostering interaction and open discourse will be prioritized throughout the event. Standards-based IP adoption has been successful because of the community of people — across engineering, product management and marketing — that has united to discuss and address issues. IP Oktoberfest 2020 will provide an online platform for continuing this work, and participants will once again have the opportunity to meet face to face in the virtual realm.
