Remote Production in the Cloud for DR and the New Normal
September 2, 2020 @ 3:00 am - 4:00 am
Even before the recent global health event, media organizations were exploring choices on how to deliver content with more flexibility, agility, and reliability. Television stations are currently re-evaluating options for guaranteeing uptime under diverse and challenging events. Issues of business continuity and disaster recovery mean finding ways to efficiently work and produce remotely. The advent of more robust and high-performance IT network infrastructures coupled with advances in IP transport of high bandwidth media has altered the dynamics of where production can occur—and who can manage production processes. Software-based production solutions that can be virtualized and support operation in Cloud environments are increasingly moving from hypothetical to reality.
Led by Jorge Dighero and Ted Spruill, this presentation will guide you through a demonstration of how graphics, switching, audio, clip playout, ingest, content management, editing, and automation can be remotely managed to deliver critical content such as news and sports.
