Nautel has announced the VX8 and VX10, new 8 kW and 10 kW analogue FM transmitters that extend the VX Series power range from 150 W to 10 kW. The new rack-mount models give broadcasters a compact, serviceable and cost-effective option for higher-power main, standby and N+1 FM applications.
A modular design separates the transmitter into an exciter/controller, splitter/combiner and two amplifiers, so each assembly can be installed and serviced individually rather than as a single heavy transmitter chassis. With the amplifier power supplies removed, no individual assembly weighs more than 22.7 kg (50 lb).
Built on the established VX platform, VX8 and VX10 combine advanced features with outstanding value:
