OWC Preview New Jellyfish Network Storage Enhancements

Other World Computing has announced a preview of significant new enhancements to its OWC Jellyfish Network-Attached Storage (NAS) platform to take place at IBC2026 in Hall 7, OWC booth 7.A60.

Designed specifically for video and creative teams, the Jellyfish enhancements include:

OWC Jellyfish Connect 4: A dramatically improved automatic setup process makes connecting and reconnecting Mac and PC workstations during productions faster, easier and far more seamless. New in Connect 4:

  • Dynamic port detection
  • Multi-network remote access
  • Simultaneous connection to multiple OWC Jellyfish systems
  • Active Directory login
  • New apps section with links to Strada, Peakto, Jumper, Resilio and Shutter Encoder

OWC Jellyfish Manager 3.2: A centralised interface for configuring, administering and monitoring OWC Jellyfish storage systems, users, permissions, networking and system health. New in Manager 3.2:

  • Updated DaVinci Resolve integration
  • Restore media from the cloud
  • Air-gapped system updates
  • Support for large AD environments
  • Configure your own SMTP server
  • Updated MASV integration

OWC Jellyfish Media Manager 3.2: A media workflow tool that helps creative teams browse, search, preview, organise and prepare content stored on Jellyfish for editing and production. New in Media Manager 3.2:

  • Rebuilt architecture for speed
  • Support for ProRes RAW, Immersive BRAW, Sony, Nikon and REDRAW
  • In-browser previews for DPX and EXR sequences
  • Open selected media in desktop apps from within the Media Manager browser
  • Apply and edit tags and descriptive metadata across entire selections at once

Ultra High-Speed SMB Performance: ATTO SmartNICs and ThunderLink adapters, including a custom-cooled dual 25GbE NIC integrated into Nomad, enabling ultra-high-speed SMB ingest and playback from a single workstation for bandwidth-intensive professional media workflows.

The enhancements address the need for faster setup, simpler media organisation and application hand-offs, and higher-performance ingest and playback, helping production teams reduce workflow friction and work more efficiently with increasingly demanding media.

“Today’s video production teams are working with more media, higher resolutions and tighter timelines than ever before… so every unnecessary step in the workflow matters,” said Larry O’Connor, Founder and CEO of OWC. “These Jellyfish enhancements are about getting technology out of the way – making it faster and easier to connect, find and move media where it needs to go, and deliver the performance demanding workflows require. It’s all about helping creative teams spend less time managing their infrastructure and more time creating.”

The OWC Jellyfish Manager 3.2 and Ultra High-Speed SMB Performance for the Nomad are now generally available. Jellyfish Connect 4 and Media Manager 3.2 will be rolled out during Q4 2026.
