Sony returns to ISE with new firmware updates for its PTZ Auto Framing cameras with built-in AI analytics – the SRG-A40/A12 V4.0 and BRC-AM7 V3.0.
Suited to the education sector, these updates add more framing options and advanced control settings, giving users greater flexibility in daily operation. They include a Basketball Framing Mode designed for school sports games.
This update delivers highly requested features and addresses key operational challenges for education users, including:
- Ball sports (basketball) framing mode for school sports games
- Live view overlay for Tracking Range and Fixed Angle Position
- Improved Face Registration by uploading photos
- Closer close-up framing
- Support for Cisco fixed IP mode for easy integration
Delivering major AI auto-framing enhancements and improved image stabilisation, this update supports more dynamic productions and operations.

Sony enables inspiring classrooms with immersive educational experiences through flexible AV solutions. The Sony team will highlight advanced AI auto framing technology and third-party compatibilities. The University of Exeter in the UK recently enhanced hybrid learning with Sony PTZ cameras.
Booth Zone 3: Retail
Showcasing all-in-one solutions using Pro BRAVIA digital signage, Edge AI for metrics, and Spatial Reality Display for immersive experiences.
Booth Zone 4: Capture and Connect Studio
Sony will present a mocked-up podcast studio with audio, video and workflow solutions featuring the SRG-A12, Cinemaline cameras, and the PMW-Z200 camcorder. The M2L-X switcher demonstrates live mixing and streaming capabilities.
Booth Zone 5: Live Events Production
Sony will demonstrate its capabilities for medium and large events using broadcast-grade equipment including the Cinemaline PTZ ILME-FR7 on Mo-Sys MoRail, BRC-AM7, HXC-FZ90 studio camera, and PMW-Z300 camcorder. The OCELLUS tracking system will also be shown, highlighting virtual production capabilities. Workflow tools including Ci Media Cloud will be featured across all areas.
The Sony BRC-AM7 cameras recently played a pivotal role in capturing the dynamic energy and artistry of The Goldwell Colour Vision event at Exhibition White City in London, produced by gassProductions.
