FCC Approves Update of Outdated Radio Technical Rules

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission approved updating or eliminating a handful of “outmoded” broadcast radio technical rules, while preserving a rule requiring FM antenna license applicants to show what effect their transmissions have on nearby broadcast antennas. The National Association of Broadcasters had argued against eliminating that regulation, the only one of seven under consideration that the FCC kept largely unchanged.
