Fetch TV and Warner Bros. Discovery Sign New Multi-Year Channel Deal

Fetch TV and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) have announced a multi-year extension of their channel partnership. As part of the deal, CNN International returns to Fetch to offer extensive coverage of the U.S. election cycle, starting with the Iowa Caucus on January 15, right through to the U.S. Presidential Election on November 5.

Fetch says it now delivers the most WBD channels in Australia, spanning Discovery, Investigation Discovery, Animal Planet, TLC, Discovery Turbo, Travel Channel, Food Network, and HGTV. The addition of CNN International brings the portfolio to a total of nine channels available on the service. All WBD channels are available in the 50 channel Fetch Ultimate pack for AUD$20/month. Customers can also access select channels for as little as $6/month via the Fetch Skinny Packs, including via the Knowledge Pack. CNN will be available in the Fetch Knowledge Pack for only $6/month.

Sam Hall, Chief Content and Commercial Officer of Fetch TV said, “We are delighted to extend our partnership with WBD, with the addition of CNN International taking the total number of WBD channels available on Fetch to nine. Fetch customers will continue to have access to fan favourite programs including Aussie Gold Hunters, Street Outlaws and Sister Wives. We are also very pleased to see CNN rejoin the platform after a two-year hiatus, just in time for what is expected to be a riveting U.S. election cycle.”

Glen Kyne, SVP, Networks, Australia & New Zealand, WBD, said, “Warner Bros. Discovery’s content is incredibly popular in Australia, and this renewal deal with Fetch signals our commitment to continue bringing our homegrown and international content to audiences locally. Building on our long-standing partnership, we’re also thrilled to expand the reach of CNN International as the trusted news channel returns to Fetch.”

Fetch subscribers can view all WBD channels live on TV or on the Fetch Mobi App. Content from Discovery, Investigation Discovery, TLC, and Discovery Turbo is also available on demand.

Following an investment by Telstra Group Limited in 2022, Fetch TV operates as a joint venture between Telstra (51.4%) and Astro Holdings. Fetch currently services 600,000 households, and in late 2023 commenced migration of the 800,000 Telstra TV base to Fetch. ISP partners include Telstra, TPG / iiNet, Optus, Vocus, and Aussie Broadband.
