Harmonic has announced a US$25,000 donation to Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) in support of ongoing earthquake relief operations in Venezuela. The contribution is designated exclusively for GEM’s Venezuela Earthquake Relief program and is intended to sustain the organisation’s immediate distribution of emergency supplies to affected communities.
“When disaster strikes in a region where our customers, partners and colleagues live and work, we want to support them by acting quickly,” said Nimrod Ben-Natan, President and CEO of Harmonic. “The people of Venezuela need support right now. Partnering with an organisation such as GEM, which has trusted networks and resources on the ground, is the most direct way we can ensure our contribution translates into real relief.”
GEM’s response teams are operating across Venezuela’s hardest-hit areas to coordinate the distribution of medical supplies, clean water and hygiene kits. Harmonic’s funding is directed towards sustaining these operations at a critical stage of the relief effort.
“In the wake of such catastrophic seismic destruction, speed and trusted logistics are everything to families who have lost their homes,” said Michael Capponi, President and Founder of Global Empowerment Mission. “Corporate partners stepping up with immediate funding are what allow our reconnaissance and emergency response teams to continue packing and distributing vital supplies directly to the hardest-hit communities. We are grateful to Harmonic for this timely support, which directly fuels our ability to stabilise these neighbourhoods alongside our local partners.”
