IABM Invites Applicants for Vice Chair Position

IABM’s current Vice Chair, Graham Pitman, is stepping aside from this key governance role in August, having served the Association with great distinction for the last nine years. IABM is therefore seeking to appoint a new Vice Chair. Reporting to the IABM Members’ Board, this non-executive role is key to the governance and supervision of the Association, ensuring transparency and integrity in everything it does, providing experienced counsel and inspiring best practice and excellence in its processes and activities.

Established in 1976, IABM has grown into a truly international representative body over recent years, with 600+ member companies worldwide benefiting from its knowledge, support and leadership. IABM operates on a day-to-day basis under the auspices of a full-time team which receives direction from its elected members’ board.

The Vice Chair works for IABM two days per calendar month. As well as ensuring good governance and transparency, the role also involves ensuring effective business and financial processes, remuneration committee duties, staff welfare, and chairing the IABM Supervisory Group.

IABM is seeking applications from candidates with substantive board level experience either in the Broadcast and Media industry or organisations of similar complexity and type to IABM – for example charity, health trust, trade or a similar not-for-profit where there is a high level of accountability to external stakeholders. This will have included responsibility for supervision, governance, audit and compliance.

“I am very grateful to Graham Pitman for his wise counsel over the last nine years,” said Peter White, CEO, IABM. “The new Vice Chair will play an important role in ensuring continued good governance and best practice as we move forward with ambitious plans over the coming years.”
