Recognising Women in Broadcast – Entries Open for 2023 Rise Awards

Rise, the advocacy group for women in the broadcast media technology sector, has announced that entries are open for its annual Rise Awards. With a new home this year, Troxy in London and a date of Tuesday 7th November, the awards this year will be produced in partnership with Sky and EMG.

Submissions and nominations are encouraged from across the global broadcast media technology audience to showcase talent across the industry whether in a manufacturer, service provider, engineer or broadcaster role. The awards are free to enter and nominations will close on 18 August 2023, and the shortlist will be announced on Sunday 17th September as part of the IBC Changemakers event.

Entrants can be nominated, or they can nominate themselves. All applications will require statements on the nominee and why they are relevant for the award. The judges, across the categories, are looking for the best demonstration of exceptional achievement, innovation, positive impact, and the ability to fulfil the criteria.

Rise is seeking nominations across the following categories:

Project Management or Delivery Award

This award celebrates women who have exceeded in delivering transformational projects, on-time and within budget. Our shortlisted nominees have exceptional organisational and leadership skills, as well outstanding abilities in managing multiple stakeholders and multiple tasks.

R&D Engineer

This award recognizes a high achiever, problem solver and team player who represents the very best of the broadcasting profession.

Woman of the Year

Donna Smith, Managing Director of Rise, said: “Now in its fifth year, we are delighted to present the 2023 Rise Awards. Last year’s event saw women travel from Australia, Canada and the U.S., with winners dialing in from Bhutan, Mexico and a holiday in the Scottish Highlands. With our new bigger venue, we know that the Rise Awards will be the place to be this year to celebrate the women and allies in our industry. It would not be possible without the support of our sponsors, especially Sky and EMG, and we can’t wait to congratulate everyone involved later on in the year.”

Tickets for the event will go on sale in September 2023.
