The World Teleport Association (WTA) recently announced the launch of its Green Teleport program. The Green Teleport program is a sustainability design competition that generates recommendations for reducing GHG emissions and operating costs at teleports while supporting WTA-member operators in recruiting talent from universities and technical schools.
“WTA members report that their customers are increasingly making sustainability part of their criteria for selecting a teleport operator,” said executive director Robert Bell. “To help members respond to that demand, WTA’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee is introducing a program that addresses the sustainability mandate while helping members develop effective university recruiting and internship programs to attract new talent to their companies. Investments in greenhouse gas reduction can also reduce costs and contribute to greater profitability in the years ahead.”
