iconik Adds Support for Amazon Transcribe

iconik has announced support for Amazon Transcribe in its latest edition, making it possible for users to automatically convert speech to text.

iconik is a hybrid architecture-based media management hub, which keeps media files organised while making it easy to find the right versions, collaborate with other stakeholders, and distribute to multiple platforms. The addition of support for Amazon Transcribe makes it possible for users to automatically create time-based metadata based on speech. This makes it easy to search based on speech or download it as a caption file, further enhancing discoverability in the platform. Users with existing transcription services can bring those licences and easily integrate whichever service they use into iconik.

Amazon Transcribe is a solution from Amazon Web Services (AWS) that makes it easy for developers to add speech-to-text capability to their applications. Amazon Transcribe uses a deep learning process called automatic speech recognition (ASR) to convert speech to text quickly and accurately. As well as being used to generate metadata, Amazon Transcribe can be used to automate closed captioning and subtitling.

Parham Azimi, CEO, iconik, commented: “Our customers are looking to improve efficiency wherever possible. Adding support for transcription will undoubtedly save users much needed time and further enhance the capability of our platform. Amazon Transcribe is a powerful and cost-effective solution that is easy to integrate into our technology stack.”

Support for Amazon Transcribe is available in the latest version of iconik, released this month.
