Shotoku’s TR-XT – the Launch Pad for Studio Robotics Control

At NAB2024, Shotoku USA (Booth C3816) will demonstrate the latest version of its TR-XT control system with numerous innovative features incorporated. Shotoku’s lineup will also include AutoFrame face tracking technology and other highlights that accommodate applications from broadcast to legislatures to Pro AV.

TR-XT Goes from Strength to Strength

This new version of Shotoku’s TR-XT studio robotics control system is built around its predecessor but offers more functionality. All the resiliency and reliability have been retained, eliminating single failure points and preserving its unique redundancy. This version has a Windows 11 operating system and implements more of the distributed front-end/back-end architecture and fully supported virtualised remote database support. The TR-XT has a fresh style of command buttons and colour scheme for easier navigating. The StudioView shot-planning capability has more powerful multi-camera tools so camera positions are easily understood within a scaled real-studio layout image. Updated AutoFrame face tracking technology has been implemented. More advanced database handling and data shadowing is integrated for seamless shared operation over numerous, simultaneous control positions. Sharing a central database is fully supported, but with full shadowing should server connection be lost.

AutoFrame Face Tracking – Best of Both Worlds

AutoFrame, Shotoku’s technology that allows for seamless real-time face tracking and shot recall, will be shown with substantial developments. By making the system as autonomous as possible, while ensuring human intervention can be instantaneous and seamless, AutoFrame offers the best of all worlds. Shotoku have expanded the capacity for multiple channels simultaneously tracked as well as intelligently defining and maintaining the desired framing, including live zoom adjustments.

Shotoku’s SmartPed fully robotic pedestal is always in style and, at the heart of the booth, Shotoku will also highlight its newest TI-11X elevator pedestal, Orchestra CMS control system for televised legislature proceedings, and the extended family of pan/tilt heads.
