IABM Appoints Liming Fu as APAC Chief Representative

IABM, the international trade and business association for Broadcast and Media Technology, has appointed Liming Fu to the position of Chief Representative for APAC.

Reporting the IABM Head of Membership Engagement, Liming Fu will ensure that IABM members in the APAC time zones will receive the same high level of support and interaction as members in Europe and the Americas. This involves ensuring they are aware of, and benefiting from, the full range of support and services the Association offers. These include extensive support at events, technology and standards updates, business intelligence, knowledge and education, and a raft of opportunities to promote their companies, products and services to IABM’s worldwide audience. Liming’s role also involves expanding IABM membership in the dynamic, fast-growing APAC region.

Liming Fu is a well-known and respected figure in the APAC market. Liming began his career teaching broadcast and AV technology at universities in China for 17 years. In 2001, he joined Philips Broadcast (which subsequently became Thomson Broadcast) as a product specialist, which was followed by three years as a marketing manager with Grass Valley. In 2005, Liming joined Axon as managing director, Asia region, and then oversaw the transition following EVS’ acquisition of Axon in 2020. Most recently, Liming was VP Sales for APAC with TVU Networks. He also served on the IABM APAC Regional Members’ Council between 2015 and 2020, and was a mentor for Rise in 2022.

“Having seen the great benefits IABM can bring to its membership first-hand during the five years I served on the IABM APAC Members’ Council, I jumped at the opportunity to be able to spread the message more widely when I was approached about this role,” said Liming Fu. “I am very much looking forward to engaging with all our members in the region, and to opening more companies’ eyes to the fantastic range of services and support IABM offers to help them do better business.”

“Liming Fu’s enormous experience in the APAC Broadcast and Media technology industry, together with the universal esteem in which he is held, make him the ideal person to look after and represent the interests of our members throughout the region,” said Peter White, CEO at IABM. “I am certain that his appointment will be universally welcomed, and his dedication and drive will maximize the value of IABM membership for companies throughout APAC.”
