AVID has announced the appointment of Will Munkara-Kerr as Enterprise Sales Manager – ANZ
Munkara-Kerr will lead the Australia and New Zealand Sales team with two decades of experience under his belt, including a deep knowledge of the moving image, broadcast media, distribution, and the post and audio business from both a commercial and technological perspective, plus a broad understanding of customers’ needs right now, and into the future.
Will has been a part of the creative media tools industry since 2003 working with prominent brand leaders throughout APAC, including EVS, Red Bee Media and most recently as the Regional Manager of the French Video Compression and Delivery company, Ateme.
But Will’s professional journey of steering broadcast technology all started with Avid, back in the early noughties, first based in Australia and subsequently in Singapore, as part of the Avid APAC Bid Management team.
“It’s ‘Back to the Future’ in the best possible way” says Will. “Working at Avid was my first role in the industry, and I am excited to connect and reconnect with the team here, and of course with our Australian and New Zealand customers. Avid has gone through incredible growth in the past twelve years, and through the dedication of the local and global teams, clearly consolidated its position as the gold standard in our industry.”
Avid’s Vice President of Sales, EMEA and ANZ, Tom Evetts, said “We are delighted Will has joined the team. Will is a tremendous talent and is hugely respected in the industry. We are fortunate to have such a great customer base in Australia and New Zealand and we know our business will continue to flourish under Will’s leadership.”
As Avid continues to move its solutions and workflows into the agile world of the cloud and subscription models, the new Enterprise Sales Manager will be on the Vanguard of robust innovation for the team and our customers, to steer the future state.
Another elite skill Will brings is his high-level competition in the little known but growing sport of Ultimate Frisbee, which he plays passionately and often.
Avid is also welcoming this June 2022, Andrew Chow to the position of Solutions Architect.
‘Chowie’ has been the Avid go-to technologist at the Nine Network for over a decade.
He is an accomplished engineer and problem solver, having led transformational projects, but also has an amazing and considerable interest in big spectacle pyrotechnics. Having represented Australia in international competitions and big events, Andrew is well adapted to any project.
“I hope to bring a real ‘flare’ to the AVID APAC Solutions Team – pyrotechnic pun intended.” says Andrew. “I am looking forward to connecting with the AVID APAC team and working with our customers within the region, to develop and build production systems that captures, and displays, the real creative talent within their teams.”
