Accedo has announced the launch of a range of video solutions designed specifically for the sports market. Accedo for Sports combines Accedo’s product and service offerings with those of select partners to support rights-holders, broadcasters and sponsors in creating and growing their video business.
As the impact of COVID-19 continues to be felt across the sports industry, Accedo for Sports creates new opportunities for increasing monetization and fan engagement. It supports organisations at every stage of the OTT journey, from those wishing to test the market with an initial online video offering, to mature services looking for roadmap acceleration.
Michael Lantz, CEO, Accedo, commented: “It’s in Accedo’s DNA to innovate our product and service offering to ensure we can help our customers grow as the market evolves. This past year has seen unparallelled disruption in the sports market, forcing clubs, federations, broadcasters and content providers to rethink their distribution strategy in order to maintain the all-important direct relationship with fans.
“Accedo for Sports is designed to address some of the key questions for stakeholders in the sports ecosystem; As a rights-holder, how do I maximise the value of my existing commercial partnerships and delight my fans? As a broadcaster, how do I grow my core audience and reach new ones? As a sponsor, how do I present my brand in a way that will drive activations?”
Bleuenn Le Goffic, Head of Business Development and Innovation, Accedo, added: “The uncertainty surrounding live sports means that content providers need to revisit their content strategy and unlock additional revenue streams. Whilst we are focused on creating long-term value for our Sports customers, we also look to deliver short-term returns to counter the continued disruption to the business of Sport from the C19 pandemic.”
Recent successes include the Portuguese Football Federation, Hong Kong Rugby Union, and a collaboration with France Télévisions.
