Sydney’s Daily Telegraph Pushes Video News with ‘DTTV’

Sydney-based News Corporation tabloid The Daily Telegraph is throwing its weight behind a new video offering, DTTV (Daily Telegraph TV). With content shot primarily in 9:16 vertical format, DTTV has been integrated as a new “channel” in the DT mobile app, available behind a subscription paywall.

The Daily Telegraph’s Editor, Ben English, describes the launch as the beginning of a new era with DTTV taking readers inside the DT newsroom and behind “Sydney’s biggest stories”.

“For the first time, we are giving you a shopfront for all of our best journalism on video,” says English. “It’s the new destination for Sydney news. It’s our new front page. News where you need it, when you need it.”

“For the first time, you’ll watch our reporters as they lift the veil on the stories you need to see. We’ll bring direct to your phone the stories as they break, on video. And every day, we’ll bring you our 5@5 Bulletin, five stories in five minutes at 5pm.

“It’s our newsroom and our journalism brought to life on a new platform. Our reporters know this city better than anyone. They live it, they love it and they breathe it. And they’ll bring you the news first, with the sharpest insights and analysis. Everything you love in the paper, online and on the app, brought together on video, on DTTV.”

Featured journalists on the DTTV service  include:

  • James Willis – DTTV presenter
  • Angira Bharadwaj – Federal politics
  • Josh Hanrahan – Chief reporter
  • Clementine Cuneo – Senior reporter
  • Mark Morri – Crime editor
  • Joe Hildebrand – Opinion/analysis
